In this project I set out to design a set of refillable cosmetic compacts to fight packaging waste. They’re intended to be produced out of cork as it’s antimicrobial, water resistant, renewable, and resilient to large amounts of pressure. Each compact features a removable aluminum makeup pan which can be recycled after use. Customers can then purchase new individual makeup pans, and continue using the cork shell. The different shapes are inspired by river stones, and are both ergonomic and soft to the touch.
